Mentoring Placement Development Team

The Placement Development Team was set up as a joint venture between Plymouth University and Peninsula Community Health to support qualified healthcare professionals who assess and supervise students in a practice setting, to help them to achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities are;

  • to prepare and support learners in placement settings.
  • to develop, prepare and support mentors/supervisors/clinical facilitators in their roles.
  • to participate in the process of quality assessment and monitoring
  • to provide a link with Plymouth University
  • to visit and support student/mentors with any difficulties if requested by student or placement.
  • to assist with Ongoing Quality Monitoring and Evaluation (Audit)
  • to support a Professional Body visit.

We aim to support placements to provide student nurses with the opportunity to work in a variety of healthcare settings including community hospitals, clinics and with District Nurses in the community.

The Placement Development team encourage the sharing of ideas, knowledge and expertise with a common goal in producing healthcare professionals who are dedicated to continued improvement of quality of care.
